London, July 13 (ANI): Manchester City have finally succeeded in striking a deal with Liverpool over the transfer of Raheem Sterling.
The English winger will move to City for 49 million pounds on a 200,000 pound-a-week contract, earning him a further 10.4 million pounds salary per annum.
However, the transfer of the 20-year-old winger is subject to contract negotiations and a medical, the BBC reported.
Earlier, Sterling, who has a contract with Liverpool till 2017, had stirred up controversy by turning down a new 100,000 pound-a-week contract with the club. The issue got further highlighted when his agent Aidy Ward allegedly said the player would not sign a new deal even if he was offered ‘900,000 pounds a week’.
Sterling, who was named in the 30-man list for the tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, had his name withdrawn later. (ANI)
