State government of Maharashtra has granted tax-free status to MS Dhoni The Untold Story taking the cue from Jharkhand, the birth place of the cricketer, and Uttar Pradesh.

With Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role, the film shows the journey of the Indian batsman-wicketkeeper MS Dhoni.

“We are humbled and thankful to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his team for making Mahi’s biopic tax-free in the state. Mahi’s journey is inspirational and through this more people will get to see the movie and see the life of this amazing sportsman,” Arun Pandey, producer, said in a statement.

Produced by Fox Star Studios and Arun Pandey (Inspired Entertainment), the film released on September 30. According to producers, the film has garnered Rs 88.63 crore in six days.

“Dhoni was born in Ranchi and that is where his journey began. We are extremely thrilled and thankful to the Jharkhand government, who are welcoming the film on Dhoni’s life with such open arms,” Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios (producer) said.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey the biopic, shows how coaches, mentors and friends inspired young Dhoni (Sushant) to become an ace cricketer and captain of the Indian cricket team. The film also starts Kiara Advani, Disha Patani, Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawla and others. – CINEWS
