Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says he is proud of his actress daughter Alia Bhatt’s achievements in the film industry and feels she also must be ready to taste failures as well.
Alia has garnered rave reviews for her acting and also had commercial success with several films like Highway, 2 States, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Kapoor and Sons, Udta Punjab. Her Shaandaar did not do well.
“It’s good. She (Alia) should taste failure. She is just a human being like everybody else,” Bhatt said. T
“She has evolved from a reasonably good talented beginner to an extraordinary actor in ‘Udta Punjab’. She has nailed it in that film. I wonder where this emotional intelligence is coming from. Alia stunned me in ‘Udta Punjab’,” the 67-year-old filmmaker said.
When asked, if he would be ok with Alia going to Hollywood like other Bollywood stars he said, “She is an adult who is far more successful than I would have ever imagined her to be at this age. She is the master of her own life”.
The director of highly acclaimed Arth is excited about his upcoming TV show Naamkarann, of which he is the creative writer. To be aired on Star Plus channel next month, the show explores the journey of a 10-year-old who carves out her identity and takes charge of her own destiny. – CINEWS
