Man held for double Toronto murders

The Toronto Police have arrested Harris Nnane, 24, of Toronto on charges of two counts of first-degree murder.  The murders took place at 85 Ellesemere Court in Scarborough on Friday at around 9:45 pm.

It ws reported that a vehicle with four occupants had stopped in the parking lot of the LCBO and two passengers had exited the vehicle and entered a retail store.

According to police, a male was getting into the back seat of an SUV after making a purchase at an LCBO when a lone gunman approached the vehicle and fired numerous rounds into the back seat, hitting two of the victims. The victim of Homicide #27/2016 has been identified as Joseph Anzolona, 26, of Toronto. The victim of Homicide #28/2016 has been identified as Cynthia Mullapudi, 24, of Markham. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital a short time later.

Staff Insp. Greg McLane told reporters on Monday that he suspect was arrested through a joint investigation by the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force and the Toronto Homicide Squad.
