MCD has become the den of corruption: AAP

New Delhi, Feb. 1 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Monday said that Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has become the den of corruption and claimed that the Delhi government has provided all the related documents proving that the salary had been duly paid to all the MCD workers.

“As far as giving money is concerned, Venkaiah Naidu has to pay 1.5 thousand crores to the MCD, but till now that has not been paid and no one is raising questions on this. We have provided all documents on us giving money to MCD. MCD has become den of corruption,” Singh told ANI here.

“What we could do for the public, we are doing it. The duty of MCD is to keep Delhi clean. Modi ji and the Bharatiya Janata Party talks about clean India ‘Swachh Bharat’ and keep flaunting the scheme across the world, but their own capital is dirty and they are not worried or doing anything about it. We have put PWD to work on this even though it’s not their job to do this,” he added.

The municipal employees have been protesting against the non-payment of salaries since Wednesday, leading to a complete standstill of municipal services including sanitation, primary health and primary education.

Delhi Ministers, AAP MLAs and hundreds of party workers yesterday hit the streets to clear overflowing garbage dumps.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said his government’s attempt to clean the roads of Delhi was not a photo opportunity, asserting that garbage was actually being picked. (ANI)
