New Delhi, Feb. 9 (ANI): A delegation of the Congress Party led by senior leader Ajay Maken marched towards Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence here on Tuesday, seeking his intervention in the battle for funds between the Delhi Government and the municipal corporations.

“The conditions are very strange. The condition is all the temporary and adhoc employees should be vacated from their job within a year. This is the same government, which came to power promising that it would make the adhoc employees permanent,” Maken told ANI during the protest march.

He alleged that there is exploitation of adhoc and temporary employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

“How can we expect that everything will be sorted once they are fired from the job? There is need of new employees in Delhi for unauthorised colonies. The funds should be permanently released,” he added.

Earlier today, some of the MCD employees staged a protest outside Delhi Jal Board chairman Kapil Mishra’s residence.

They raised slogans against Mishra over non-payment of dues. The protestors also threw garbage outside his residence.

The mayors of Delhi met the Union Home Minister yesterday and sought his intervention in getting their rightful share of funds under the Delhi Finance Commission recommendations from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government. (ANI)
