London, Dec.10 (ANI): In a bid to make a roaring comeback next year, world number three golfer Rory McIlroy has undergone a laser eye surgery to sharpen his vision.
The 26-year-old, who needed contact lenses throughout his career, posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing protective goggles following the surgery, writing, “Human version of the dreaded K-9 cone . Only for sleeping though! Laser eye surgery went well yesterday.”
McIlroy, who missed three tournaments in the summer due to ankle injury while playing football, had earlier expressed that he wanted to be stronger and healthier again, the Guardian reported.
The Northern Irishman also admitted that the time had come to capitalize his career, adding that he was really looking forward to the next season.
McIlroy, who failed to defend both his British Open and PGA Championship crowns, ended his modest season by winning his third DP World Tour Championship in Dubai in four years. (ANI)
