Kareena Kapoor Khan has come out in support of his actor uncle Rishi Kapoor.
She says he is not a person to lose his cool just like that referring to the scuffle with the media crew during the Ganpati visarjan.
A video surfaced online purportedly showing Rishi and his actor-brother Randhir Kapoor slapping and pushing a few media persons and fans during the immersion of their family Ganesh idol on September 15.
“I wanted to know what exactly happened. There must have been something for him (Rishi Kapoor) to be so upset. Otherwise, I don’t think a man of his stature would lose his cool. I think something would have happened,” Kareena said.
The media’s intrusion at the private religious festival drew wide criticism on social media.
“He is a very senior man and an intelligent person. He knows what he is doing. Obviously, something would have triggered to upset him. There were so many people and it was raining on that day,” she said.
However, the Ki and Ka actress did not speak anything about her father (Randhir) who, too, features in the video.
The incident occurred when members of the Kapoor family were on their way to immerse the idol, installed at R K Studios at Chembur, in the sea near Shivaji Park in Dadar, Central Mumbai.
Rishi has said the video in question has been tweaked to show them in a bad light and he will take legal action against the person behind it.
