Karachi, Mar.02 (ANI): Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has questioned the role of Shahid Afridi as T20 skipper following his nation’s humiliating five-wicket loss to India in the much-anticipated Asia Cup clash.
Opting to bat, Pakistan failed to adapt to conditions as they avoided their lowest T20 score by just nine runs. They were bowled out for a paltry 83 in Mirpur.
Speaking to a local news channel, Miandad claimed that Afridi had stopped being a reliable performer, adding that the flamboyant all-rounder had lost his place in the side a long time ago, the Dawn reported.
Miandad, who is considered as the greatest batsman Pakistan has ever produced, also blamed the Pakistan Cricket Board for poor state of affairs and observed that many Pakistani players lacked cricket sense and did not have an aptitude for the game. (ANI)
