New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Congress leader J.P. Aggarwal on Tuesday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has not taken adequate steps for security of women in the national capital so far.
“If they would have been actually worried, they would have consulted the (Police) Commissioner and put forward their agendas in front of the people and would have worked towards it,” Aggarwal told ANI.
“Two examples are in front of me. They had said that the CCTV cameras will be installed, there will be patrolling at night . home guards will be appointed in the buses, but I don’t think even a single home guard has been appointed,” he added.
The Congress leader also condemned the government for not focusing on the issues of the general public.
“We can call it their pretentions or their ‘nautanki’. They are not worried about the public. Not even a single department of the party is working well,” he added.
Aggarwal’s reaction came after Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced that his government will constitute an inquiry commission to study the city police’s response to crimes against women. (ANI)
