Sydney, Jan.15 (ANI): Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis continued their winning streak as they won their 30th match in a row to clinch the Sydney International title on Friday.
The Indo-Swiss pair bounced back brilliantly from a set down to claim a 1-6, 7-5, 10-5 triumph over French pair of Kristina Mladenovic and Caroline Garcia in a thrilling summit showdown.
Earlier in semi-finals, Mirza and Hingis created world record with 29 successive victories, breaking Puerto Rico’s Gigi Fernandez and Belarus’ Natasha Zvereva 1994 record.
Mirza and Hingis have bagged eleven women’s doubles titles so far, including two Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, since joining forces in March in 2015. (ANI)
