Modi lauds social works undertaken by Avadhoota Datta Peetham

Datta Nagar (Mysore), Jan. 2 (ANI): Inaugurating the Centenary Celebrations of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji of Sri Suttur Math at Avadhoota Datta Peetham here on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he visited there for the first time, but knew their traditions well.

“I have come here for first time but I know of the traditions here well. Here, social work has been given a big impetus. Work of Saints, seers, Rishis has always been for the welfare of society,” tweeted the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) quoting him.

“Am happy to know that Guruji returned from a visit to Gujarat and he visited Kutch,” the PMO further tweeted.

Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Karnataka.

On Sunday, he will inaugurate the 103rd session of Indian Science Congress at the University of Mysore.

He will also lay the foundation stone for a new helicopter manufacturing unit at Tumkur, and will inaugurate the 21st International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and its Applications at Jigni. (ANI)
