Mohanlal’s ‘Pulimurugan’ roars at box office

Much awaited Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan hits more than 330 screens all over India on October 7.

The Vysakh directorial is expected to perform well on the opening day as it has been one of the most hyped Malayalam movies of the year after its release date was postponed many times.

Mohanlal, who plays the role of a tiger hunter Murugan opposite Kamalini Mukherjee, is expected to enthral the audience with some exciting action sequences with a tiger in the action thriller.

The 20-minute climax scene, choreographed by popular stunt master Peter Hein is said to be the highlight of the movie.

The issue of man-animal conflict lies at the heart of Pulimurugan.

The movie also has Kamalini Mukherjee, Namitha, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jagapati Babu, Makarand Deshpande, Lal, Bala, Kishore, MR Gopakumar, Vinu Mohan and Ramesh Pisharody in pivotal roles.

The big budget project, financed by Antony Mulakupadam, clashes with with Mammootty’s comedy entertainer Thoppil Joppan at the box offices.

Pulimurugan is expected to break the first day collection record of Mohanlal’s Loham, which is said to have earned a collection of Rs 2.14 crore on the opening day in Kerala.

According to a review the tiger hunting scenes are brilliantly done and are the best part of this action-adventure. “A lot of research and effort have clearly gone into making these scenes and the results outstanding. The high-voltage action is another highlight of the film, courtesy Peter Hein, who has been pushing the envelope in stunt choreography in the country”. – CINEWS
