Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro despite being a much-waited films of this year is also one of the most expensive productions to hit the screens.
The reason for its big budget can be due to the fact that the film was shot in multiple locations. It was first shot in Bhuj, then in Naigaon and then again in Bhuj, where a set was built over an area of 2.5 km.
A report said that the constant travelling incurred a lot of expenses, exceeding expectations. Hrithik’s leg injury apparently too made the situation worse.
A source said, “The film’s initial budget was Rs 150 crore, but it ended up costing almost double because of Hrithik got injured. His surgeries delayed the shoot, thus causing a lot of loses for the producers. The actor had refused to shoot in Bhuj after his surgery as the temperature there had reached 48 degrees, so they had to move the location to Naigaon. It’s only after he recovered that he agreed to shoot in Bhuj again.”
The shoot was had taken over a period of 262 days. – CINEWS
