Mourinho rubbishes Gerrard’s claims of friction with Chelsea captain Terry

London, Sept. 17 (ANI): Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has brushed aside Steven Gerrard’s claims of a potential rift between captain John Terry and the Portuguese coach, insisting that the pair maintains a healthy relationship.

Terry was benched during Chelsea’s Champions League 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday and was hauled off at half-time when his side suffered a 3-0 defeat against Manchester City in the Premier League last month.

Liverpool legend and former England captain Gerrard had earlier claimed that there was certainly a bit of friction behind the scenes, pointing the sudden omission of captain Terry from the playing eleven.

However, Mourinho hit back at Gerrard saying that the LA Galaxy midfielder was wrong in his assessment of their relationship.

“Steven is wrong. I have a very good relationship with him. He’s wrong, because we have no problems,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by
