‘Pink’ actress Taapsee Pannu who hails from Telugu cinema join hands with director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury to add English subtitles to her film with a view of making it easy to understand for the audience in the southern states of India.
“We were getting a lot of requests from southern states that they want to see the film and understand it. Since language should never be a barrier for good cinema, we thought of changing all the existing prints to subtitled versions,” Taapsee said in a statement.
Pink, co-produced by Shoojit Sircar, is a message-based drama on sexual crimes against women. Released on September 16, the film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Piyush Mishra and Dhritiman Chatterjee.
Yesterday she also expressed hope to take part in a Telugu version of socially-relevant sexual abuse drama. Taapsee said, “I don’t know about that till now, but if they do approach me for a remake, I would love to do it.”
Talking about how she feels about Pink success, the actress said all the appreciation has made her more cautious about the choice of roles she makes, as she doesn’t want to disappoint her fans.
Taapsee has already begun filming for her forthcoming movie Naam Shabana, produced by Neeraj Pandey. Naam Shabana is a part of Baby franchise. Baby had Akshay Kumar in the lead role. But he will be seen in a cameo in the new movie. The film will also star Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher. – CINEWS
