Melbourne, Jan. 29 (ANI): World number two Andy Murray on Friday reached his fifth Australian Open final after defeating big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic in a thrilling five-set men’s singles contest.
The Briton claimed a 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2 win over Raonic at Rod Laver Arena to set up a mouth-watering summit clash against defending champion and world number one Novak Djokovic on Sunday.
Murray produced a spirited comeback as he bounced back after trailing 2-1 in the third set before eventually prevailing over his Canadian rival, who labored with a groin injury in the deciding set.
Murray will now aim to break his jinx at the Australian Open finals, where he had previously lost three times to Djokovic and once to Roger Federer in 2010. (ANI)
