New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan said that his father Amitabh Bachchan taught him Kabaddi, while speaking at a press conference for the third season of Pro Kabaddi League.
“I speak to my family about everything and that’s what families do. I remember, I went to him and said, ‘Paa, I am thinking of doing this and I feel passionate about it. I think, we can really make a difference.’ And I must tell you that it is my father who taught me Kabaddi. At first, as usual my father was expressionless but then gave me a thumbs-up,” said Abhishek.
Abhishek added that he was excited to learn about the sport after he watched his father’s film, ‘Ganga Ki Saugandh.’
From this year, Star Sport’s Pro Kabaddi League will become a bi-annual event. The upcoming season will include 26 international players from 11 nations not only from around the sub-continent but also Kenya, Japan, Oman, Thailand, Indonesia and Poland.
The bi-annual plans have stemmed from the huge popularity that the sport has garnered and with a high demand for the sport from fans across segments.
Riding on the massive success of its two seasons so far, Star Sports Pro Kabaddi is all set to storm stadiums and television screens across India with its Season 3 beginning January 30, 2016.
The season will begin with a match in Vishakhapatnam and the playoffs will take place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on the March 4 and 5, 2016 with the largest indoor setup in the history of the league. (ANI)
