“I’m not working for the agriculturists to determine any motivation for my work on screen. Kisano ka dukh kya humein malum nahi? Kisano ke baare me kya murmur jaante nahi hain? Everybody thinks about it,” says Patekar, including that the issue emerges on account of disparities in the cost of items that the agriculturists develop.
“The cost for everything is altered, yet not for things that a rancher harvests. Raaste me khareedte shade agar kisi ne kaha ki yeh subzi 10 rupay kilo hai, aap usse kehte hain 5 rupay me de do. Kya aap kabhi mall mae jaake bolte ho ki teen hazaar ki pant do hazaar me do? At that point why such state of mind towards farmers?” says Patekar.
His inquiries sound appropriate when one thinks about the condition of the ranchers, who are frequently reported conferring suicides because of awful yields. Patekar includes, “When government authorities go on a strike, it influences the working of the administration. However, when agriculturists dissent, how can it influence the legislature? I would prefer not to remark on what the legislature is accomplishing for agriculturists.”
