Water, directed by Deepa Mehta and Breakaway starring actor Vinay Virmani, have the highest number of screenings across Canada of all films being shown at what is billed as the world’s largest film festival ever.
On April 19, REEL CANADA is inviting all Canadians to take part in celebrating Canadian cinematic storytelling through National Canadian Film Day 150(NCFD 150).With more than 1,700 screenings taking place across the country and around the world, as well as providing films on multiple Canadian broadcast stations and online platforms.
Canadians from coast to coast to coast will be able to celebrate their country’s 150th birthday by watching a great Canadian film.
More than 150 diverse great Canadian films will be shared at multiple locations including a screening for new Canadians at the CBC Atrium in downtown Toronto; and a screening of Midnight’s Children, directed by Mira Nair at 6:30 pm at the Agha Khan Museum in North York. The event is free and open to the public and will feature special guests, actor Zaib Shaikh and producer David Hamilton. Tickets can be reserved at www.agakhanmuseum.org
