Chennai, July 6 (IANS) The second round of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing and Honda One Make Championship (OMC) will start at the Madras Motor Race Track here from Friday.
In the Super Sport 165cc category of National Championship, Honda racing contingent will be led by Rajiv. S alongwith Mathana Kumar and Hari Krishnan .R.
In Pro Stock 165cc category, the grid will witness India’s top notch racing talent including Chennai boys — Mithun, Soorya, B. Aravind and Anish Shetty.
Among other racers, Arul Kumaran, Amala Jerald and Syed Nawas will represent Honda in the Stock up to 165 (Novice) category while the Stock up to 165cc (Girls) category will comprised of Ryhana Bee (Rehana Reya) and Shruthi .N.
In the One Make Championship, which has no relation with National meet, the grid will boast of India’s stalwart racers Rajiv .S, Hari Krishnan .R and B. Aravind among others. As many as 18 riders from five teams –Apex Racing, Honda Ten10 Racing, Pro Lap Racing, Kingdom Racing and Rock Star Racing– will take part in the event, which consists of two categories (Novice and Open).
Commenting on the upcoming round, Vice President, Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) Prabhu Nagaraj said: “Honda2Wheeler India has kicked-off the 2017 motorsports season in India with highest ever podiums finishes in the season starter.”
“Honda riders are in their best form and we look forward to such phenomenal performance by them in the upcoming round as well. We are confident that our riders with their international learning’s and superior race machines are all geared up for intense racing action this season,” he added.
