New Delhi, Jan. 31 (ANI): The National Maritime Fisheries Census will begin from tomorrow in all the maritime states and two union territories of the country.
The census is being conducted by Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute of Kochi, a research body under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
It will cover 425 maritime fishing villages spread 73 Districts of the country.
The enumerators would collect details pertaining to social, educational, fishing infrastructure of marine fishing families to develop a comprehensive census data base, which would be helpful in facilitating formulation of fisheries related plan and policies in the marine sector.
