Kathmandu, Feb.24(ANI): The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed that all 23 people, including three crew members and two children, who were on board on the ill-fated Tara Twin-Otter plane, have died in a crash in Rupse of Myagdi district in country’s western part on Wednesday.
The aircraft, operated by Tara Air was travelling from Pokhara towards the trekking region of Jomsom, reports The Himalayan Times.
The plane lost contact with the control tower shortly after take- off said an airport official.
Pokhara is a resort town some 200 kilometres west of capital Kathmandu. Jomsom, located further north, is the starting point for many people trekking in Himalayas. There are no landing strips between the two locations.
In 2013, the European Union banned all Nepalese airlines from flying there.(ANI)
