Nepal to take up the issue of supplies with India

Kathmandu, Oct. 10 (ANI): A cabinet committee meeting presided over by Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, has said that it will be taking up the issue of resuming transportation of essential supplies with the Indian authorities.

The discussion was taken on Saturday. The committee and its deliberations will be coordinated by Pandey.

According to The Himalayan Times, Minister for Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa, Nepal’s Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhayay and secretaries of different departments, including foreign affairs, commerce and supplies, home affairs and finance will be part of the committee.

Due to the ongoing protest on the border by Madhesis and other minority groups, only few Indian transports have been able to enter Nepal over the past two weeks. (ANI)
