New Flag Field public artwork at Maple Claire Park

Toronto artist Josh Thorpe, will be joined by Councillor Frances Nunziata (Ward 11 York South-Weston) for the unveiling of his large-scale outdoor public artwork Flag Field.

Date: Thursday, October 13
Time: 6 p.m. (Councillor and artist remarks at 6:15 p.m.)
Location: Maple Claire Park, 20 Viella St. (near St. Clair Avenue West and Weston Road)

Thorpe’s new work, arranged in two clusters, consists of 14 flags on flag poles ranging from 8 to 15 metres high that display stylized graphic drawings of abstract patterns, animals and landscape elements.

Thorpe’s work is part of the City’s permanent Public Art and Monuments Collection. The City currently has more than 205 public artworks and monuments, located throughout Toronto, in its collection. – CINEWS
