New NGO ‘905 Women for Women’ takes off

The launch and media scrum event organized by the newly formed 905 Women for Women (905W4W) a not for profit group happened over the long Thanksgiving Weekend and it was attended by a large number of volunteers, friends and many electoral candidates from the riding of Mississauga and Brampton. They all spoke about their mandate in relation to women empowerment.

The keynote speaker at the event was Mr. Baldev Mutta CEO of Punjabi Community Health Services and among the other distinguished speakers was Ilmana Fasih, from the United Ways of Greater Toronto.

The mission and vision of the organization was presented by Anju Rajan, the Chair and Alka Verma, the Executive Director of the organization. This initiative was launched as a response to the lack of women centric services, programming and advocacy in the 905 area

The organization’s mission is to engage, educate and equip women with resources to embrace their power, purpose and value. 905 W4W will soon start their programming, while advocating for and being the voice of women in the 905 area. -CINEWS
