New Delhi, July 7 (ANI): The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of the Rajasthan Government calling for a report into an incident of electrocution of 15 people along with injury to 31 others in Rajasthan’s Tonk District on June12.
He has been given four weeks’ time to respond.
The Commission’s directions have come following a suo motu cognizance of a media report about the incident in which a high voltage live electric wire fell on the bus carrying 50-60 people to a wedding ceremony at Saans village in the district.
The Commission has observed that it is of utmost importance and absolute responsibility of the state authorities to maintain high voltage electric supply lines safely and avoid any similar mishap.
The incident has indeed resulted in loss of lives and injuries to many, violating their human rights. (ANI)
