No bomb in ‘suspicious’ object found: N.S. Megharikh

Bengaluru , Jan. 15 (ANI): Bengaluru police chief N.S. Megharikh on Friday said that no bomb had been found at the Cauvery junction in the centre of the city.

“Around 11 a.m. we got information that a suspicious object was found near the Cauvery junction. Police with a bomb squad and sniffer dogs rushed to the spot. No bomb or explosives found, although we have asked everyone to take precautionary measures,” said Megharikh

Megharikh also said that it was a glass jar, but with no explosive material.

“Bomb squad found nothing suspicious. There was no wire connected or metal base. There is no need to panic,” he added.

The area was on alert after a package was spotted and reported by some residents of the area.

The bomb disposal squad was called in and they have opened the package. The police said it had a round glass jar with some liquid that seemed to be the remains of liquor.

Policeman and sniffer dogs are still combing the area. (ANI)
