New Delhi, Sept. 4 (ANI): The government on Friday refused to give compensation to the 39 passengers injured in the Chennai-Mangalore Express train derailment that took place near Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore District.
“There won’t be any compensation for the injured. However, the treatment of injured would be undertaken by the Indian Railways,” Minister of State for Railways, Manoj Sinha told ANI.
“A passenger train was derailed at 2 a.m. this morning. Thirty nine persons were injured. The ambulance reached the spot by 2.45 a.m. The officers also reached the accident spot and the injured passengers have been taken to hospitals,” he added.
As per reports, six bogies of the Chennai-Mangalore Express train derailed near Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. The ladies compartment and the unreserved compartments derailed and overturned, injuring 39 passengers. (ANI)
