Pathankot, Jan. 26 (ANI): Hours after the Pathankot Railway Station was evacuated triggering security concerns, the Punjab Police on Tuesday said that no explosives have been found in the abandoned bag at the site.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police (Border Range) Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh confirmed this news to ANI.

Earlier, an abandoned bag sparked a scare at the railway station and an operation was carried down to neutralise the situation.

An alert was sounded after the police found the bag following which the railway station was evacuated immediately.

Pathankot has been on high alert since the deadly terrorist attack on the Indian Air Force Base last month. Seven security personnel were martyred in the operation to flush out the terrorists from the air base.
