New Delhi, Sept. 18 (ANI): The Election Commission on Friday said that it has no objection to the broadcast of Prime Minister’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme over All India Radio (AIR) and pre-broadcast publicity through different channels of AIR and Doordarshan.
It said, however, there should be nothing in the broadcast that may be construed as inducement to voters or having any impact on the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls. The model code of conduct is in force from September 9.
Earlier, the Congress, RJD and JD (U) had demanded a ban on the broadcast of the programme alleging that it violates the Model Code of Conduct.
The programme will be broadcast on Sunday at 11 a.m. in the morning and will be relayed by entire network of AIR and Doordarshan. (ANI)
