New Delhi, July 18 (ANI): Asserting that the law and order situation has collapsed after the BJP-PDP alliance came to power in Jammu and Kashmir, National Panthers Party (NPP) leader Bhim Singh on Saturday said that peace and security cannot be restored unless the Indian Constitution is enforced in the state.
Singh, who was reacting to the waving of Pakistani and ISIS flags in Srinagar during the protest over the house arrest of hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, said that there is no law and order in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have been living on the inflaming volcanoes for the past nearly 60 years. And now with the formation of the new government in Jammu and Kashmir, our situation is worse,” Singh told ANI here.
“One thing is very important which the people of this country should understand, that no Indian law like Indian Penal Code or Constitution of India are applicable on us. Courts can enforce only laws made by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. As long as you don’t have Indian Penal Code, you don’t have Indian Constitution enforced in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, you can’t have peace, you can’t have security because Indian Penal Code is not applicable to us,” he added.
The National Panthers Party leader alleged that the situation has become worse in the valley after Prime Minister Narendra Modi surrender to the PDP and anti-India forces. (ANI)
