New Delhi, Dec. 28 (ANI): Ahead of the implementation of the odd-even formula on January 1, the Delhi Government will conduct a “dry run” on Wednesday to test the preparedness for the implementation of the scheme for private cars in the national capital.
Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai told reporters three thousand additional buses would ply in view of rolling out of the scheme from Friday.
Rai said the Delhi Metro would also increase its frequency from two thousand in a day to over three thousand to meet the extra rush of the passengers.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party said its volunteers would help implement the scheme within the framework of law.
Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi had on Sunday warned AAP volunteers against any form of vigilantism, saying the volunteers should assist and act as per law, while police enforce the scheme.
The scheme, which will be implemented for 15 days, has been proposed to curb pollution in the national capital by restricting movement of private vehicles based on their registration numbers. (ANI)
