Bhubaneswar, Jan 15 (IANS) Odisha will come up with a new start-up policy in two-three months with the help of US-based TiE Silicon Valley to provide a good environment for start-ups in the state, a senior official said on Monday.
“The TiE Silicon Valley will support us in preparing the start-up policy, which will come up in two-three months. The policy will provide a good environment to the start- ups in the state,” Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi said on Monday.
A 13-member delegation of the non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship is on a two-day visit to Odisha.
During a meeting with the visiting delegation, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday said the Odisha government planned to set up incubators to assist start-ups in the state.
“#Odishagovt is planning to set up incubators to assist start-ups; my vision is to see #Odisha amongst top 3 start-up destinations in the next 2 yrs,” tweeted Patnaik.
The meeting also discussed investment opportunities in small, medium and large industries in Odisha.
He said an agreement between the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) and TiE SV would promote start-ups and entrepreneurship in the state.
“I am happy to note that IPICOL & TIE SILICON Valley @tiesv have a one-of-its-kind agreement to foster the growth of start-ups in the state,” he tweeted.
