Chennai, July 24 (ANI): Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who was left out of the Test squad for next month’s Sri Lankan tour, proved a point to the selectors by claiming five wickets and helping India A gain an all important lead on day three of the first ‘unofficial’ cricket Test against Australia A on Friday.
Ojha claimed five Australian wickets, giving away 85 runs as the visitors folded for 268 in reply to India A’s first innings score of 301.
Amit Mishra, who has been recalled to the Test team after four years, bagged three wickets. Overall, the Indian spinners took eight of the nine wickets.
At stumps, India A were 121-3 with an overall lead of 154 runs. Abhinav Mukund (40) and skipper Cheteshwar Pujara (42) missed out on fifties.
KK Nair and SS Iyer were unbeaten at four runs each when the day’s play was called off. (ANI)
