Om Puri’s next film reveals insight into farmer suicides in India. Venture Marathwada, which will see the veteran actor play a troubled rancher, catches the difficult assumptions of poverty stricken groups of farmers.
The film is being created by Prakash Patel, Jigna Patel, Jay Prakash Patel and co-delivered by Niraj Patel, Parful Patel, Sandip Patil, Sadiva Khan, Bhavin Wadia and Eagle Eye Entertainment.
In the trailer, Tukaram (played by Om Puri) can be seen leading his child’s last rituals after he submits suicide. The scenes highlight the grave misfortune and defenselessness of villagers. The story sees a twist after Tukaram decides to end his life after failed attempts of getting help from the corrupt system.
The film likewise stars Seema Biswas, Govind Namdeo, Dilip Tahil, Farrah Kedar, Caroll, Kunal Seth, Rahul Patel. Composed and coordinated by Bhavin Wadia, with Archit Patel as DOP, and ambient melodies by Sanjoy Chowdhary, it is set for release on June 3, 2016 crosswise over India. – CINEWS
