One Indian killed, two injured in Yemeni attack on Saudi Arabia

New Delhi, Sept. 19 (ANI): An Indian was killed along with two others who were injured in a mortar attack by Yemeni Houti rebels in Jissan, Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed on Saturday.

The Indian has been identified as Farooq, a mechanic from Kerala, the two injured are Mohd Sadiq from Bihar and Sunny Thomas from Kerala, according to sources.

“According to our Consul General in Jeddah, one Indian is reported to have died and two injured in the attack,” MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

The Indian was among the four other who were killed when Yemeni Houthi rebels attacked the Samtah hospital early Friday morning.

According to reports, the injured Indians are stable and not in a serious condition.

Earlier, six bodies of the seven Indian nationals, who were reported missing after their boats came under aerial attack in Yemen, were recovered.

Two boats carrying 21 Indian nationals had come under aerial attack earlier. (ANI)
