One killed in Turkey explosion

Ankara, April 11 (IANS) One person was killed and four others were injured in an explosion on Tuesday at a police building in Turkey’s southeastern city of Diyarbakir, the authorities said.

The blast occurred during a repair of an armoured vehicle in the Diyarbakir Provincial Security Directorate compound in Baglar district. Parts of the roof of the building collapsed, Dogan News Agency reported.

Earlier, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu was quoted by CNN as saying: “The blast was in a part of the building for riot police where maintenance is carried out on vehicles.”
