Ontario Gurdwaras Committee to hold Vaisakhi celebrations on May 5

Over 100,000 Sikhs from across Ontario descend upon Toronto to take part in Vaisakhi celebrations. This year, the 320th Vaisakhi celebrations is expected to be even bigger and grander. The Ontario Gurdwaras Committee will have its parades and celebrations happening on Sunday, May 5.

Vaisakhi is the day Khalsa was created and is a very important day for all Sikhs around the world. A Nagar Kirtan will be held starting at 12:30 p.m. and wrapping up at 6 p.m.

The parade will start at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Malton, 7280 Airport Road in Mississauga, and conclude at Sikh Spiritual Centre, 9 Carrier Drive in Etobicoke.

A ceremony will be held between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Malton and between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the Sikh Spiritual Centre. -CINEWS
