Orange Is the New Black star Michael Chernus is all set to star in Marvel Comic’s sci-fi action fantasy Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The 39-year-old actor has teamed up with Sony Pictures and Marvel for the project and will essay the role of Phineas Mason, the Tinkerer in the film. Chernus, who has worked in the films like “Captain Phillips”, “Aloha” and “The Bourne Legacy”, will play villain in the reboot of the franchise.
Directed by Jon Watts, the movie will hit theatres on July 7 next year. It stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr and Michael Keaton in the main roles.
Marvel’s superhero, Spiderman was last scene doing a cameo in Marvel’s latest film Civil War. Superheroes of Marvel comics are doing brilliantly in the box office in terms of reviews and numbers, compared to the superheroes of DC Comics.
Recently Disney confirmed that Marvel’s upcoming sci-fi action Avengers: Infinity War, which was supposed to be in two parts, will now be a standalone film. Disney will still release Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War as planned on May 4, 2018.
