London, July 13 (ANI): Tennis ace Leander Paes, who was once again at his vintage best after winning the mixed doubles title with Martina Hingis at Wimbledon, has dedicated this victory to the people of India.
The Indian-Swiss pair beat fifth seed Austrian-Hungarian duo of Alexander Peya and Timea Babos 6-1, 6-1 in a match that lasted only 40 minutes.
Speaking to a television network after his win, the 42-year old said that ‘this trophy is for India’.
This was Paes’ eighth mixed doubles title and second with Hingis. They had won the Australian Open early this year. (ANI)
