Pak firing on Indian boats ‘wrong and unprecedented’: R.K. Singh

New Delhi, Sept. 18 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former home secretary R.K. Singh on Friday condemned the firing by Pakistan Navy on Indian boats off the Gujarat coast and expressed hope that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) would lodge a protest in this regard.

“There has been no formal demarcation there and if people start firing on their own interpretation then many fishermen will die on both sides. There must be a probe into it,” Singh told ANI.

“It is wrong and unprecedented. We hope that Pakistan will take action on the concerned people. I am sure that the Ministry of External Affairs will lodge a strong protest against this,” he added.

An Indian fisherman was killed by the Pakistan Navy off the Gujarat coast on Friday.

According to reports, the Pakistan marine targeted two boats today off the Dwarka coast, which resulted in the fisherman’s killing. (ANI)
