Pak has buried joint statement issued in Russia: Congress

New Delhi, July 13 (ANI): Congress leader Manish Tewari on Monday said that Pakistani Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has almost declared that the joint statement issued in Ufa, Russia, is not worth the paper it is written on with his remark that no dialogue process will take place with India unless Kashmir issue is not included in the agenda.

“The Czar of the Pakistani foreign policy and security establishment, Sartaj Aziz, has shot a torpedo through the bows of the Indo-Pakistan joint statement. He has almost declared that the joint statement is not worth the paper it is written on. Even before the ink dried on the joint statement Pakistan has buried it,” Tewari told ANI here.

In addition to that, Lakhvi’s lawyer says we will not give voice samples, Pakistani prosecutor says that they will not ask for voice samples, Sartaj Aziz says they want more evidence with regards to 26/11..,” he added.

The Congress leader also sought an explanation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the latest comments made from the other side.

“Prime Minister Modi now needs to tell the nation whether NSA level dialogue will go on, whether talks between DG BSF and Pakistani Rangers will now take place, and if it takes place then what has changed since last one year when you called off the dialogue after High Commissioner hosted the Hurriyat,” he said.

Addressing the media in Islamabad earlier, Aziz said that no formal dialogue will take place with India without Kashmir issue on agenda.

A joint media statement released after the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Russia on Friday stated that both sides had decided to expedite the 26/11 Mumbai attacks trial, including additional information like providing voice samples.

The joint statement also said that both sides had agreed to hold a meeting in New Delhi between the two National Security Advisors to discuss all issues connected to terrorism. (ANI)
