Though Ajah Devgn is the producer of Parched which has been acclaimed at foreign festivals he does not seem to be bothered about it nowadays. His attention for the past several weeks has been centred on his other film, Shivaay, and controversies surrounding it.
Or whenever he attends any event, the triangular row steals the thunder.
But yet Ajay Devgn-produced Parched looks like on its way to becoming a landmark of Hindi cinema reminding us of the glorious days of Mrinal Sen and Shyam Bengal.
More than the artistic content of the film it is now notoriously known for the leaked love-making scene involving Radhika Apte and Adil Hussain and the reports say now it has been leaked it its entirety and is being sold as porn in some parts of India.
The trailer gives us glimpses the mastery of its director who catches mysterious beauty of Gujarat and its ancient culture and the film is said to be bringing to focus several social issues weighing down on rural folks.
Starring well-known talented actors who can be described as the backbone of new wave, if we can describe it like that, Radhika, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Adil Hussain, Aditi Gupta and Surveen Chawla, the trailer explores the way society sees a widow and a prostitute and also touched the much-debated topic of marital rape.
The film Parched has been internationally applauded and critically acclaimed and has already won 18 awards and thus is expected to be a promising one in terms of storyline.
It has been to Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and Toronto International Film Festival. It has already received a thunderous response at 24 International Film Festivals across continents and won 18 Awards.
Parched has released internationally in 7 countries and is currently running in its 22nd week in France.
The film has been produced by actor, filmmaker (and now even a producer) Ajay Devgn. It looks like two films of Ajay Devgn will hit the theatres this year.
Parched will be Director Leena Yadav third venture, who has previously made films like Shabd and Teen Patti. – CINEWS
