Pawan Kalyan to act in Tamil remake of Vedalam

Pawan Kalyan...

Pawan Kalyan denies he will completely quit film career for politics.

Pawan Kalyan’s latest Telugu movie was launched on Tuesday, 11 October, on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami.

The upcoming movie is said to be a remake of hit Tamil movie Vedalam.

RT Nesan, who had earlier directed Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Mohanlal’s Jilla, is directing the Pawan Kalyan-starrer.

A M Rathnam, who had produced Vedalam, is reportedly remaking it in Telugu. The producer had earlier bankrolled the Power Star’s blockbuster Kushi way back in 2001. Other details about the project are under wraps.

Vedalam starred Ajith in the lead role with Shruti Haasan playing his love interest. Lakshmi Menon had played the hero’s sister, while Kabir Duhan Singh played the role of baddie. It was a revenge drama, which was written and directed by Siruthai Siva. The crime story was in Kolkata.

Pawan Kalyan is busy with Katamarayudu, which is directed by Dolly aka Kishore Kumar Pardasani and produced by Sharrath Marar on the banner of Northstar Entertainment. He has also signed Trivikram Srinivas’ next film Devude Digivachina.

Amid speculations that Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan would drift away from film industry into politics, the actor has cleared the air stating that he will continue his acting career. “Acting is my livelihood. I will not stop. Yet, I will continue my political journey,” Pawan had said.

Pawan is the founder member of political party Jana Sena in Andhra and Telangana. After a massive rally in Tirupati in August, Pawan Kalyan, on September 9, held the Seemandhra Atma Gauravan Sabha (Seemandhra Self Respect Meet) at Kakinada, where he raised the demand for special status for Andhra Pradesh.

The last time Kalyan had made such a public appearance was while campaigning for PM Naredra Modi in the state before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. – CINEWS
