New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): Fashion designer Payal Jain stunned the audience with her ‘La Playa Blanca’ collection which absolutely changed the perception of beach wear for everyone present at Day 3 of Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016.
Inspired by the hues of sun, sand, ocean, flea markets, the spring-summer collection had abundant use of lace, crochet, hand knotting and more. The silhouettes were free-flowing with chikankari, zardosi, dori-work and stitch and tie technique.
Talking about the collection to ANI, Payal Jain said, “It is a collection which one can pair up with anything and can carry it off in any place. I usually love beaches and especially the flea markets over there are quite inspiring. If you take a close look at each piece, you will see a lot of fabrics stitched together. This is for anyone and everyone who likes easy carrying stuff.”
One would think of a Bollywood face to be walking as the show stopper, but for a change well-known author Anuja Chauhan took to the ramp as show stopper for Payal. Talking about her experience of walking the ramp, Anuja said, “I feel really happy to walk the ramp for Payal. I love her collection because of its soothing colour and the chunk jewellery she has paired it up with. The moment you wear them, they give you a beachy feel altogether.”
The accessories added fun element to the look. Totes, sling bags, flea market jewellery and friendship bands further supported the beach look of the models.
The five-day fashion gala, Amazon India Fashion Week in association with Maybelline Spring Summer 2016 will showcase a total of 56 designers this year and will conclude on October 11.
