New Delhi, 0ct.8 (ANI): The Congress Party on Thursday said that the people are appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak and break his silence, rather than raising issues that create disruption in society.
“People are asking ‘Bolo Modi’ (Talk Modi) ‘Chupi Kholo Modi’ (End Your Silence Modi),” said Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.
Commenting on the issue of the cancellation of a concert of Pakistan’s popular ghazal artist Ghulam Ali in Mumbai, Surjewala said, “Art and ‘Kattarwad’ (radicalism or fundamentalism or communalism) have no connection, but the BJP’s ‘Kattarwad’ (brand of communalism) is trying to kill art. People are expecting Prime Minister Modi to break his silence and stop violence, barbarisms, and also take steps to improve the nation,” Surjewala told ANI.
He further said that the BJP and Shiv Sena want to trample upon basic civil rights.
Ghulam Ali’s concert, which was scheduled to be held on October 9, was cancelled under pressure from the Shiv Sena. (ANI)
