Actress Taapsee Pannu who acted in a film about sexual abuse played a Good Samaritan to a girl who was being eve-teased by some men. The incident had happened when the ‘Baby’ actor was shooting in her hometown Delhi, which is infamously known for several notorious incidents in the past.
Taapsee who played a leading role in the film ‘Pink’, frequently travels by metro and while she was returning from a shoot one day, she saw a girl being eve-teased by some men.
Realising what was happening, Taapsee ran to her help and made sure that the girl reached home safely.
When asked about the incident, Taapsee said, “When I was going towards my car from the metro station I saw these guys who were passing comments on a girl when she was alone. I approached that girl without any second thought and asked her if I could drop her home. I was a stranger to the girl and I wasn’t sure if she would take my help readily but I’m glad she agreed to come with me. I feel anyone, not just myself, in such a situation should do their best to extend a helping hand.”
Taapsee plays a rape victim in Shoojit Sircar’s Delhi-set thriller Pink. The film revolves around three girls who were trapped in a criminal case. The crime thriller also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Taring in lead roles and is scheduled to release on September 16. – CINEWS
