Mississauga, March 4 (CINEWS):Pizza delivery employees are often new immigrants, students or unemployed adults who take on this job as a means of putting food on the table. Increasingly, this is a risky job.
Just this week, a pizza delivery employee was robbed at knife-point at a Mississauga apartment complex at Glen Hawthorne Boulevard.
Police say the delivery driver got out of the elevator and was approached by a male suspect wearing a mask and wielding a knife. The suspect took the victim’s wallet and fled on foot.
If you are a pizza delivery person never carry too much money, avoid wearing expensive chains or watches which are liable to be stolen in a robbery.
Often thieves will lure a delivery person to an address belonging to someone else and will lurk in the corner of an often deserted area. Pizza delivery people have been assaulted and robbed in this fashion many times in the past in and around Toronto.
