PM Modi puts accent on skill development among youth

Naya Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Jan. 12: Emphasising for skill development among the youth of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India is a country full of opportunities, India is a country full of opportunities and the youth of India should become job creator, not the job seeker.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 20th National Youth Festival here – the new capital city of Chhattisgarh – Prime Minister Modi said, “Peace, unity and harmony is essential for the country, and without these elements there is no meaning of development.”

Earlier, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the festival, which was presided over by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.

The five-day-long event will continue till January 16.

The youth festival is being organised on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada.

Over 6000 youths from across the country are participating in the National Youth Festival. The theme for the festival is ‘India Youth for Skill, Development and Harmony’.

The festival is being jointly organised by the Chhattisgarh Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and National Service Scheme.

During this five-day event contests in 18 different disciplines, including folk dance, folk song, drama, classical music, and classical dance will be held. (ANI)
